Have you ever just reflected on how far God has brought you? Like how he has rescued you out of the pits and valleys time and time again.
Bear with me as I have my moment of reflection and allow you to see in through the window: “All I can say is, thank You, thank You Jesus! I would be nothing and on a fast track to nowhere without You God! You’ve made me, changed me and kept me through the ups and the downs of this life. Holy Spirit, You have endured with me, been a continuous immovable Source of life, hope, love, counsel, refreshing, understanding, wisdom and so much more! Jesus, it’s you for me truly! Thank you Jesus for all You’ve done! For keeping me, for loving me, for staying when others left, for giving me operable use of all my fingers and limbs, for a sound mind; thank You for all You’ve done and continue to do and will do! There will never be enough ‘thank you‘s’ that could cover it all. It would take more than 10 million universes and then some! You are limitless, You are a miracle worker , a Life Changer, a Refiner, a Reviver!!!!”
Sometimes you just have to stop and say thank you. Maybe you missed an opportunity to say thank you when something happened because you didn’t notice the change right away or because your attention was somewhere else. But if you have breath in your lungs today, you still have an opportunity to tell God ‘Thank You’. Be like that ‘one’ leper, out of the ten, that when he noticed that Jesus had healed him, he went back to Jesus and said thank You.
“One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.” Luke 17:15-16
This is what He desires. He knows there will be times that we miss it; many times we will. But when we notice it, He wants us to run back to Him and show Him our gratitude. Out of the ten lepers that were healed, ONLY one saw Jesus as worth the pause of praise. He ran back to Him, and fell at His feet in thanks. Jesus didn’t have to heal him, which meant he no longer had to be ostracized by his community and family. It meant new life, new hope, a fresh start. Has Jesus given you a fresh start? Has He given you your life back? Has He done what He didn’t have to do, but He did it JUST back He loves you? Has He made a way out of an impossible situation? Reflect on ALL He’s done, in just today, and let that bring you to His feet!!! Because He is worthy and deserving of it ALL and more!
And the more you release your thank you‘s to God, the clearer sight you will begin to have on what God has been up to in your life. Praise, thanks, gratitude, it all clears the haze, the sleep that closes and covers our eyes from seeing clearly what God is doing.
Slow down and take a pause break and turn it into a praise break with God right now. Throw your hands up, tell Him thank You, dance with Him and rejoice and give Him thanks for ALL He has done and is doing and even have the faith to thank Him for what He will do in your life. And the more we do this, the more we will become like David in Second Samuel chapter 6 when he tapped into the goodness and mercy of God and began to praise and be overwhelmed by His goodness. So much so, he began to dance down the road and his praise began to get the attention of others, and it drew them near. He was shameless in his praise and pursuit of God because of how good God was.
Even in the toughest of times, praise the Lord; it’s in these times that we need to reflect on all He’s done all the more. Because if He has gotten you through tough times before, rest assured that He will get you through this time.
So take some time today and be reminded of His goodness and of His mercy that has been present in your life. He hasn’t forgotten about you, sometimes it’s just us who’s forgotten about Him and all that He’s done and all that He’s capable of doing. So, today let us all be reminded of who He is, and how he deserves the praise, the honor and the glory.
Here are some scriptures to use to reflect on God‘s goodness and mercy!
“Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” 1 Chronicles 16:34
The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all he has made. Psalm 145:9
The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him. Nahum 1:7
“Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men! You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence From the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion From the strife of tongues.” Psalm 31:19-20
“They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty—and I will meditate on your wonderful works. They tell of the power of your awesome works—and I will proclaim your great deeds. They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.” Psalm 145: 5-7
“O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me. But those who seek my life, to destroy it, Shall go into the lower parts of the earth. They shall ]fall by the sword; They shall be a portion for jackals. But the king shall rejoice in God; Everyone who swears by Him shall glory; But the mouth of those who speak lies shall be stopped.” Psalm 63
